Controller (Construction Industry) - Full-time / Part-time

Currently seeking a Controller for a large Commercial Contractor in Leesburg, FL.

Job Duties:

• Full cycle of accounting duties and supervise others in the basic tasks, such as accounts payable and receivable
• Maintain WIP and job costing reports
• Code and enter vendor and expense invoices, run checks, bill customers and clients, and prepare bank deposits, ensuring that correct general ledger accounts are debited and credited appropriately
• Process payroll checks and benefits, prepare monthly and quarterly tax reports (payroll, fed/state unemployment, etc.)
• Facilitate month-end close
• Banking needs including reconciling monthly bank statements and monitoring cash flow
• Journal entries prepared and entered
• Trial balance run to verify accounts are in balance
• Analyze trial balance and make necessary adjusting journal entries to correct discrepancies
• Submit for final approval by CFO
• Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statements
• Prepare other reports as needed (job cost reports, percentage complete, etc)
• While not directly supervising staff, will oversee daily functions of staff for accuracy and timeliness of accounting processes (including A/P, A/R, invoices, expenses, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Certified Bookkeeper designations are a plus

Experience

• Must be able to work closely with project mangers and office staff as it relates to bookkeeping and general ledger functions
• Minimum 5 years experience in similar position in related construction field, or sufficient experience in related services (ie. CPA firm)
• Familiarity with Spectrum ERP system is highly desired
