About this job
We're currently seeking an Accounting Clerk for a contract opportunity with our partner, one of the leading providers of title insurance, mortgage and diversified services.
Daily Responsibilities Include:
- Performs basic accounting functions which require knowledge of accounts payable and receivable and of reconciliation functions.
- Answers customer inquiries.
- Research problems and or complaints.
- Creates and edits spreadsheets
- Under direct supervision, performs entry-level bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
- Posts journal or voucher entries, reconciles accounts, and checks for accuracy.
- Verifies, sorts, posts, and checks claims, bills, invoices, and vouchers.
- Back up Escrow Accountants, Clear Top Sheets and Misc items
Qualifications:
- Typically requires a high school education or equivalent with no specific training in accounting principles or accounting experience.
- Knowledge of basic functions with spreadsheet software such as Lotus or Excel.
- Good analytical skills.
- Proficient in mathematics
- Ability to follow procedures and keep records.
- Accounts Payable experience helpful
- Invoice processing experience and knowledge is required
