Senior Cash Accounting Coordinator – Marlborough, MA

Job Summary:

Conduct daily research on outstanding items for all 3 divisions with any contracted vendor who may retain custody and liability for any store cash funds, including, but not limited to depository banks, returned check consolidators, check guarantee service providers and armored carrier service providers. Analyze monthly and annual trends relating to store cash loss and liability in an effort to reduce loss and improve efficiencies within the recovery process. Compiles and reports monthly sales data for distribution to management, credit and check programs and loss prevention. Asisst management in the development of various tools to prevent backlog and ensure the integrity and accuracy of reporting. Verify monthly bank statements and general ledger reporting to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the liability and cash accounts that are reconciled by the cash accounting dept and directly relate to store cash loss and recovery. Prepare monthly journal entries to store cash and expense ledgers.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Research and recover store cash
  • Research and request all documentation pertaining to lost funds from various internal and external contracted companies in an effort to determine liability of lost funds
  • Research and request reimbursement for deposit discrepancies due to negligence by external contracted companies
  • Make recommendations to management for variance write-offs as the pertain to store cash, returned checks and miscellaneous liability accounts
  • Analyst store cash loss and recovery
  • Analyze monthly and annual trends relating to store cash loss and liability in an effort to reduce loss and improve efficiencies within the recovery process.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly journal entries to ensure the general ledger is stated accurately
  • Prepare monthly reporting for distribution to management
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
