As a Senior Informatica Developer for the State of New York All Payer Database (APD) Project, you will be responsible for managing delivery of all Informatica components of a multi-Terabyte Oracle Exadata environment that will contain public and private health care claims and encounter data from insurance carriers, health plans, third-party administrators, pharmacy benefit managers, Medicaid and Medicare.  Data will be synthesized to support the management, evaluation, and analysis of the NYS health care system.  This project is comprehensive to the Informatica product suite in that it includes not only PowerCenter, but also Test Data Manager, Master Dta Management and Data Quality components of the solution.  This is a hands-on technical role, accountable for optimizing and successfully delivering all components of the Informatica solution.

Please note that this position is based in Albany, NY. Telecommuting is not an option.
 
 
  Primary Responsibilities:


Install, upgrade and patch Informatica components of the NY APD solution so that the environment remains current. 

Implement procedures to maintain, monitor, backup and recovery operations of  the ETL environment so that the environment is reliable and highly available through time. 

Define Informatica workflow and mapping standards so that development is done in a consistent manner across all development resources (ie, no hard coding, leverage of mapplet/reuse concepts…)

Conduct ETL optimization, troubleshooting and debugging

Designs and develops test plans for ETL unit testing and integration testing

Tune and optimize ETL jobs for performance and throughput. Interact with data modelers and DBAs on data architecture optimization for ETL performance.

Provide development support, including walk through approvals, to other ETL application resources to insure that standards are followed and optimized workflow is implemented.

Advocate and enforce secure coding principles, as defined by State of New York coding policies, to insure we are in compliance with all NYS standards, 

Document and maintain operational procedures in the form of an operations manual for all ETL workflow.

Lead troubleshooting efforts for ETL job issues related to pre-production and production.

Leverage Informatica Data Quality as a mandatory process step for profiling data prior to downstream transformation. 

Designs and develops data validation processes using Informatica Data Quality.  Designs and develop exception and error handling through data governance so that data stewardship is leveraged to assist with anomalies.

Lead the Informatica master data management components of the solution in support of both member and provider master indexes. 

Lead rules development for creation of a golden record for the most accurate domain content across member and provider possible. 
 

Requirements


Required Qualifications:

4+ years of development experience with Informatica Powercenter 
2+ years’ experience with Master Data Management (MDM) concepts using any MDM tool.
1+ year experience with Informatica Data Quality
1+ year experience with Informatica MDM or Siperian
1+ year experience with  Informatica Test Data Manager
2+ years of experience with leading other ETL developers
2+ years of healthcare experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with New York State Data across Medicaid, Medicare, Exchange and commercial payer environments
Oracle experience
Experience with dealing with 837 EDI transactions
Experience with Informatica Meta Manager
Experience with regulatory security requirements regarding HIPPA and other regulatory security requirements
