As a Business Analyst/Subject Matter Expert for the State of New Jersey BDW Project, you will be responsible understanding and analyzing all aspects of contractually required services and deliverables for the BDW project. You will be a business specialist and subject matter expert, analyzing and solutioning requirements with colleagues and business clients.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
You will be responsible for developing deep expertise in all aspects of the NJ BDW business processes, business requirements and strategic vision. You will be a key contributor to and manager the NJ BDW requirements traceability matrix (RTM), to insure all contract requirements are being met by the delivered solution. Your responsibilities may include:

Work with end users/customers to understand and further develop requirements
Serve as a key resource in decomposing and solutioning complex analytic requirements
Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives; and make appropriate recommendations
Able to present information in a variety of formats (charts, graphs, tables) to help leadership and stakeholders understand requirements and issues that surface
Ability to explain technical issues in words the customer will understand
Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, using a range of tools, including MS Word, MS Powerpoint, MS Excel and MS Visio
Champion privacy and security for all analytic components of the NJ BDW solution
Partner with leadership and customers to track and understand defects; Assume accountability and/or ownership to work defect through to resolution
Proficient in SQL to allow for data analysis and data exploration of quality issues that surface
Knowledge of data quality and master data management concepts to allow for strong participation and support of these key components of the NJ BDW solution
*Please note that this position is based in Trenton, NJ area. Telecommuting is not an option for this position.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

3+ years of Subject Matter Expertise experience with Medicaid programs
3+ years of healthcare business analysis
2+ years of experience gathering and documenting requirements from the client/business 
2+ years of Data Warehousing experience
2+ years of data analysis experience using one or more of the following BI Tools: Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects, SAS, SSRS or other industry equivalent BI tools
Preferred Qualifications:

State Medicaid Data Warehouse or Medicaid Management Information Systems experience
Experience with NJ Medicaid/Health Exchange data
Experience with NJ State commercial healthcare payer data
Oracle experience
SQL experience
Tableau experience
Strong working knowledge of data quality and master data management concepts
Strong working knowledge of change management and incident management procedures and best practices
Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint
Excellent problem solving skills, including managing multiple priorities, and researching conflicting and/or inaccurate data
Experience communicating data analysis results, including trends and opportunities, both verbally and in written form, to clients and the business
Experience analyzing business processes/workflows, and providing evaluations, benchmarks and/or process improvement recommendations
