Job Description & Qualifications:

Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing the development of advertising, brand governance including intellectual property and proprietary brand related activities, and management of the HD Supply family of brands in the U.S. and Canada.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Manages competitive landscape and how to best differentiate HD Supply. Supports the ongoing strategic positioning and development of the HD Supply brand (s) including the company’s proprietary brands and effectively distinguish HDS as a leader in the industrial distribution industry.
  • Manages the brand architecture and brand standards for correct and consistent usage across all channels.
  • Collaborates across functions, and with key external partners, to build the brand and ensure a cohesive brand experience for customers, investors, media, employees and other constituents.
  • Works with the Marketing Research team to measure brand health and understand how HD Supply is perceived by our constituents.
  • Partners with the Creative Solutions team to develop the core brand assets that can help enhance awareness and identify opportunities to promote the HD Supply Brand with our target constituents.
  • Leads thought leadership content and collateral to help establish HD Supply as the First Choice for customers. Work closely with PR and Marketing to help shape the discussion in the market about the company with influencers that are relevant to our customers.
  • Improves the integrity and consistency of our brand.Identifies consumer insights that shape our storyline and messaging. Articulates story and unique positioning of HD Supply.
  • Facilitates branded advertising and sponsorships.

Nature and Scope

  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles and practical experience.
  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff. Work Environment
  • Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time. Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be eighteen years of age
  • Must pass the Drug Test
  • Must pass the Background Check
  • Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable Education and Experience
  • Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 7+ years experience in related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

  • 5+ years experience in proprietary brand/marketing management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or Communications.
