The PBX Operator is responsible to greet and connect incoming calls to their proper destination with a friendly demeanor. Telecommunications services will be provided with the use of an electronic Dimension 600 PBX console and automated guest message service. The individual is expected to dispatch emergency calls or fire emergencies to Security and/or National Park Service, dispatch urgent messages to bell staff for delivery to guest rooms, and additionally activate automatic wake up calls for guests. The Hotel Operator is expected to maintain a pleasant and cordial attitude, and also maintain a follow up call log for all guest inquiries and complaints and follow up accordingly with engineering and the guest, and will also send and receive faxes for guests and staff as necessary.

The “must haves” for this position include:

  • Strong working knowledge of computers
  • Fluent in understanding and speaking English
  • Friendly, courteous personality, ability to relate well to guests and employees
  • Ability to perform under pressure

We prefer that you additionally have the following skills / experience, but it is not required:

  • Previous Hotel Operator experience

Our season typically runs from mid-May through early October.
