Job Duties:
  • Assist security management in all duties
  • Assist with all security functions
  • Conduct all annual and biennial inspections properly and to code
  • Insure all contractors are working within fire suppression codes
  • Order new equipment as required,
  • Maintain all fire suppression equipment in the facility
  • Insure all contractors are working within fire suppression codes
  • Prepare information and work with auditors
  • Coordinate with the Safety Department on any Safety-related issues
  • Take the lead on any and all fire or medical emergency
  • Maintain all fire equipment and gear
  • Handle all Hazmat Materials in compliance with MDOS and SOP
  • Supervise and train shift fire team leaders in suppression and leadership standards
  • Motivate the team to reach higher performance standards
  • Assess and evaluate all members of the Fire Team
  • Insures the general appearance and uniform standards are met
  • All other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of a Fire Team and security policy practices, procedures and techniques
  • Have a working knowledge of all State and federal fire codes
  • Respond to or direct emergency situations inside the facility and coordinate with outside agencies
  • Maintain good working relationships through both written and verbal communication with strict confidentiality, tact, discretion, diplomacy and accuracy
  • Good Judgment, attention to detail, and respect for all personnel, clients and employees
  • Perform physical labor for extended periods of time, lifting up to 100 lbs
  • Physically able to wear full set of PPE and breathing equipment
  • Can bend, crouch, stoop, climb, crawl and climb ladders to high heights
Experience:
  • Ability to obtain state security licensing
  • Must possess valid state drivers’ license with excellent driving record
  • Pay for this position will be based on security and/or fire suppression and training experience


Qualifications

Performance Metrics: The Site Supervisor is expected to achieve the following metrics within Whelan’s performance-based business environment:
  • Manage to 2.5% unbilled overtime or less on assigned account
  • Retention of the account
  • Period over period improvement (usually quarterly) of performance metrics specific to the account
  • Personnel inspections and training of assigned personnel each month
  • 100% compliance to the Whelan Mandatory Requirements
  • Lead by example of living up to the Whelan Values
