What does a Visiting Angel do?
As a non-medical, living assistance service, care for our clients will range from simple companionship that may include ADL’s, i.e., light housekeeping, meal preparation or errands for clients in need of a little assistance or for clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s. We also handle more complex cases when care is needed for a Multiple Sclerosis, stroke, cancer, or post-operative client in which bathing, incontinence care, personal hygiene and complex transferring may be involved. We also provide respite care when needed.

Nurse Aide Trainee/Home Health Aide
Become a Visiting Angels State Tested Nurse Aide! Earn your wings at the newly formed Visiting Angels Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program. Our Registered Nurse Certified Trainers will provide the classroom and hands-on training to prepare you to become an STNA. The eighty hour course will be offered to qualified candidates free of charge in exchange for a one-year employment agreement.
This is an ideal position for:
- Students entering nursing school who need flexible scheduling to work around class schedules
- Recent retirees desiring supplemental income while having a positive impact on the lives of others
- Anyone with a desire to have a positive impact on the life of a senior citizen
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- A sincere love and desire to serve the senior community
- Good communication skills
- A compassionate, upbeat attitude with a strong commitment to ethical behavior
- The willingness and ability to work flexible hours
- A track record demonstrating reliability, supported by employment and educational references
- The willingness to provide personal care including bathing, dressing and continence care
- The ability to provide non-personal care including light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders and errands
Pre-admission requirements include:
- TB test consisting of a 2-step Mantoux test or Chest x-ray
- Physical examination
- Basic 10-panel drug screening
- BCI Criminal Background Check
