Summary:

Arhaus is currently looking for a Furniture Repair Technician. The responsibilities of the Furniture Repair Technician are to assess damages and choose appropriate methods to repair wood furniture, leather, fabric and upholstery. Furniture Repair Technicians are comfortable working with their hands and display an aptitude for craftsmanship, artistic and/or carpentry services.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assess damages and choose the appropriate method of repair for case goods, leather, fabric, and upholstery

  • Perform various furniture service duties to include the repair and refurbishment of all case goods, upholstery, and leather products.

  • Ability to use techniques such as use of fillers, burn-ins, color matching, structural repairs, and installation of replacement parts.

  • Demonstrate a high-level of attention to detail and professionalism at all times.

  • Wood color matching & blending

  • Wood repairs including burn-ins & wood graining

  • Leather repairs including scuffs, holes and tears

  • Upholstery repairs including structural/mechanism replacements

  • Pull and Pick – Operate power mobile material handling equipment. Retrieve all items for delivery or picking and staging inventory accurately in assigned areas.

  • Load – Load furniture into trucks for delivery to hubs, stores and customer homes.

  • Receive – Receive shipments from across the globe, check furniture and accessories shipments in, unload, and rack in warehouse.

  • Package – Merchandise returns from stores and customers and rack into warehouse.

  • Generate paperwork used for movement of merchandise within warehouse

Education, Experience and Other Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma; College degree preferred

  • Years of experience: two years’ experience working with wood furniture, leather, fabrics and upholstery

  • Possesses a strong focus on safety, be detailed oriented and have the ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Some warehouse experience preferred

  • Computer proficiency: Working knowledge of computer programs

  • Understanding of general work practices in warehousing and distribution, including order picking, packing, and shipping processes and procedures.

  • Dedicated to business and willing to adjust schedule and hours as needed to manage department

 

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Performing tasks in a standing position for extended periods of time.

  • Repetitive movements.

  • No physical limitations that limit the ability to carry and move furniture weighing up to 175 pounds.

  • Consistent regular scheduled attendance is considered an essential function of this job.
