Our Assistant Managers directly support the company's goals to meet and/or exceed financial and sales goals for the store.
Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities include:
  • Assist the Store Director to maintain appropriate level of store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees while ensuring that all positions are filled with the best possible candidate at all times.
  • Develops employees for future advancement within the company.
  • Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on assigned tasks; following all scheduling directives and monitoring and tracking attendance
  • Maintains 5S standards (Sort, Straighten, Systematic cleanup, Standardize and Sustain) in receiving.
  • Leads team in performing all freight functions including stocking and resets. Ensures Specialists are focused first in their specialized areas and adheres to all merchandising guidelines.
  • Performs store recovery tasks and housekeeping (inside and out) as required during stocking efforts.
  • Drives productivity by training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Monitor associate compliance with all policies, procedures, programs, and provide training as needed.
  • Plans and then monitors every task ensuring they are performed in the most efficient manner.
  • Ensure a safe working and shopping environment while minimizing shrink and damages.
  • Trains, certifies and operates all store equipment including forklift, pallet jack, baler, and compactor as needed.
  • Submit facilities, IT, and store communication request according to SOP.
  • Able to perform and train all associates on every function in the building, including all office, front end, store opening and closing functions while maintaining keys to safe and building, while protecting all company assets.
  • Ensure staff is accurately processing all transactions per policy.
  • Ability to use good judgment when deciding how to handle day to day and unusual issues with customers, vendors and team members.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must:
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have a High School Diploma/Equivalent
  • Have at least 1 year Management/Leadership experience
  • Have at least 1 year direct responsibility of leading 10 or more people
  • Have at least 1 years direct/indirect familiarity or responsibility for annual revenue, operating budget, or profit & loss dollars of at least million
  • Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays
  • Have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., team lift 100 lbs.
