A successful Digital Advertising Technical Specialist will have or be the following:

  • Exceptionally detail-oriented and organized.
  • 1-2 years of relevant professional experience in digital advertising operations; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (computer science or advertising preferred); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An understanding of digital video players and formats such as HTML, Flash, HLS, JavaScript, XML relating to advertising creative and delivery processes.
  • Knowledge of digital specifications and tagging such as VAST, VPAID & VMAP and have experience with ad serving constituent technologies (ad server logic, redirects, pixels and cookies). Experience with debugging proxy server tools such as Fiddler, Charles and Wireshark.
  • Ability to handle aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an eagerness to learn and collaborate with others both internally and externally.

DISH Media Sales is seeking a Digital Advertising Technical Specialist based in New York City to oversee delivery, ensure correct specifications and acceptable-to-air quality is met for all digital advertising campaigns on Sling TV, DISH Anywhere and DISH set top box applications. 

 

The Digital Advertising Technical Specialist will report to the Manager of Digital Advertising Operations within the DISH Media Sales division.  He/she should have a good understanding of the Television, OTT, TV Everywhere and Digital Advertising landscapes. This person will work alongside multiple departments including Advanced TV, Sling TV Operations, Media Sales Operations, Product Management and Engineering.

 

Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide day-to-day technical support for the digital Advertising team and oversee advertising and promotional creative asset delivery.
  • QA creative assets and trafficking of digital campaigns.
  • Assist internal Advertising Operations, Product and Engineering teams to troubleshoot creative, and tagging issues on Sling TV and DISH Anywhere.
  • Provide technical analysis and recommended solutions for issues.
  • Identify operational workflow enhancements and help instill best practices related to quality assurance across the digital Advertising Operations team.
  • Work with 3rd party tech vendors to ensure correct dynamic ad insertion and verification.
