The Network Pricing Consultant supports and validates Provider Network (physicians, hospitals, pharmacies, ancillary facilities, etc.) contracting and unit cost management activities through financial and network pricing modeling, analysis, and reporting. The Network Pricing Consultant will process Maximum Allowable Cost (MAC) appeals, review MAC pricing and drive change within the MAC group by being part of a growing team that is defining how MAC will work in the future of the industry. Responsibilities may also include managing unit cost budgets, target setting, performance reporting, and associated financial models.

Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct data extraction and research studies that may include analyzing, reviewing, trending, and presenting information, based upon provided specifications, to support ad-hoc data requests
Designing, developing, modifying, supporting, debugging and evaluating SAS programs and other technical platforms to meet business requirements
Communicate results in abstracts, graphs or summaries with minor editing and input from manager
Research issues with performance to determine the origin and work on rectifying them as required
Utilize technical platforms to create/maintain new processes for tracking and analyzing appeals data
Daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of key metrics and performance indicators
Provide ad-hoc consultative analyses to internal and external clients
Works closely with Industry Relations management to prioritize internal and external analyses
Other ad-hoc projects as needed
Contribute to knowledge sharing, ideas and information related to technical platforms and be a key technical expert within the team
Prioritize personal workload to meet specified completion dates
Role will utilize the following technical platforms / competencies:

SAS Enterprise Guide
Base SQL

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree
Prior experience in SAS, SQL or other similar platform, specifically with building and maintaining/editing queries for analytical and reporting purposes
2+ years of analytic experience
Excellent Microsoft Office skills including advanced Excel skills 
Strategic thinker, able to quickly grasp complex issues
Strong detailed analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work productively and pro-actively in a dynamic, fast paced and constantly changing environment
Be able to work independently to achieve overall departmental goals
Self-starter, demonstrated ability to structure own work, design and drive projects from their inception through to completion, while managing deadlines and working simultaneously on a variety of  tasks
Ability to communicate effectively
Be a team player and have a strong ability to work with other disciplines across companies
Preferred Qualifications:

Healthcare industry experience (health plan, pharmacy benefit manager/PBM, pharmacy, etc.)
