JOB DESCRIPTION

The Cosmos Club, founded in 1878, is a private social club for men and women distinguished in science, literature and the arts or public service. Members come from virtually every profession that has anything to do with scholarship, creative genius or intellectual distinction.

Summary/Objective:

The dishwasher is responsible for washing and cleaning tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. They work to keep the dish room and equipment clean and organized.

Essential Functions:

• Load, run and unload dish machine
• Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately
• Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle
  • Must follow HACCP sanitation guidelines according to Cosmos Club standards (water temperatures for 3 compartment sinks - washing/sanitation) 
• Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware
• Keep dish room clean and organized
• Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen
• Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster at designed times
• Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss
• Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies
• Clean food preparation and production areas as required

Experience:

• No previous restaurant experience required

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for long periods of time (up to 5 hours), bend, stoop, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to safely lift bags, cases and stacks weighing up to 60 pounds up to 30 times per shift
