Description

Summary : Able to diagnose and repair industrial maintenance issues relating to electrical, welding, pipe fitting, machine installation, refrigeration, and heating. Also responsible for guiding and developing associates in the Building Maintenance Mechanic II, Mechanic III and Mechanic Helper positions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.
Dismantle machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part.
Replace defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part from various kinds of metal stock.
Assemble and test operate machine to verify correction of malfunction.
Maintain and lubricate machine tools and equipment.
Perform scheduled PMS on machinery as needed.
Utilize appropriate computer software to input log of needed work repairs and completion of such.
Develop and guide associates in Mechanic II, Mechanic III, and Mechanic Helper positions
in learning the proper procedures for maintenance repairs.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment.
Ability to weld and use cutting torch.
Working knowledge of refrigeration basics and troubleshooting ability.
Follow company's attendance policy by coming to work on time and when scheduled
Follow company's safety policies and procedures.
Follow through with requests and recommendations of the Warehouse Maintenance Supervisor.
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience :
High School Diploma or GED and one year certificate from college or technical school; eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills :
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, and customers.
Mathematical Skills :
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills :
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Excel and Word software and working knowledge of some form of maintenance management software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations :
Must have CFC certification (Refrigeration Recovery and Application)
Must possess valid Driver's License

Must possess tool set
Must be 18 years of age
Must be able to pass Forklift Certification
Must comply with dress code requirements
Must be willing to respond to emergency calls
