General Summary

The Distribution Operations Support position will complete basic tasks in support of DC operations. This position provides operations support to DC Management, customers, suppliers, and internal team members. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain warehouse inbound delivery schedule
  • Research and respond to delivery failures.
  • Spot audit receiving documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Research and process documentation to LTL freight carriers to maximize Distribution Center reimbursement on store freight claims (ie. short on load, damages).
  • Research and track delivery credit claims (ie. short on load, damages).
  • Track and expedite Distribution Center order shipments from suppliers.
  • Select and order all MRO supplies for Distribution Center.
  • Maintain and order supplies for office equipment as needed (copier, printers, postage meter).
  • Coordinate Asmark program.
  • Process bills for payments
  • Process all in-house and store credit card sales.
  • Track and monitor DOT licenses for Distribution Center staff as needed.
  • Maintain daily and weekly reports for manager
  • Authorize and monitor retail returns
  • Perform all other job functions as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Requires a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). 

Experience: Requires 2-4 years of previous work experience in customer service preferably in a distribution center environment.

Previous Southern States work experience a plus. 

Requirements

  • Microsoft Office Suite (ie. Word, Excel, Outlook, Outlook Web, PowerPoint, Access)
  • JDE/E1
  • Open Stream
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Farm and Home product lines.
  • Ability to professionally interact with store owners, suppliers and warehouse personnel. 

Work Environment

  • Job functions are performed in an office environment 

Physical Activities & Requirements

While performing the essential job functions of this position, the following is required:

  • Continuously finger and handle, reach with arms and hands, use hands in repetitive motion, sit, utilize eye/hand coordination
  • Frequently twist head/neck and back/waist, walk
  • Occasionally bend, stand, pull, pull, push, lift, carry up to 25 pounds, climb, stoop 

Must be able to speak to co-workers and customers regarding day-to-day business operations.
