Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Location: New Kensington, Pa
Pay: $14.00 to $18.00 hourly
Type: Temporary to Hire
Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager
Normal Shift / Working Hours: Monday through Friday. Overtime and weekends will be
required as deemed necessary by departmental demands.
Job Summary: Provides quality support to manufacturing through inspection, problem solving and process improvement.
Duties / Responsibilities:
• Adheres to safety and quality standards set forth by Company.
• Inspect in process and finished manufactured parts.
• Support manufacturing needs.
• Works with operations and engineering to resolve quality issues.
• Creates and maintains first article inspection paperwork.
• Coordinates and cooperates with all cross-functional departments to fulfill customer needs.
• Quantitatively analyses quality issues, inspections and production data and makes appropriate data based decisions about corrective and preventative actions.
Experience: Two years related experience in QC or manufacturing environment required
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two year degree preferred
Specialized Skills, Training or Abilities:
• Ability to read mechanical blue prints
• Knowledge and understanding of geometric tolerancing
• Knowledge and understanding of SPC (Statistical Process Control)
• Knowledge on the operation of a FARO Arm and Optical Vision System
• Strong practical math skills
• Ability to use standard measurement and inspection tools. CMM knowledge a plus
• Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
• Certification as a mechanical inspector a plus
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a production plant environment with limited exposure to elements such as dust, noise, fumes or temperature changes, and with limited exposure to mechanical, electrical, fire, chemical, or other hazards.
