About this job

As an IT Portfolio Architect with Optum Data Management (ODM), you will work with ODM pillar leads to understand pillar business strategy to develop technology strategy, current, transitional & reference (future state) architectures and roadmaps. You will track changing business trends and technology changes to refine artifacts. You will be actively involved in evaluating technology options to satisfy evolving and changing modern data management capability needs.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Participate in development of  technology strategy
Develop pillar portfolio blueprint (future state) and roadmap
Identify and support opportunities to execute on roadmap
Develop technology capability models, technology gaps and reuse opportunities in support of business needs and objectives
Develop and foster relationships with the pillar subject matter experts (business & technical)
Develop and own reference architectures and models collaboratively across pillars and technology office
Develop and monitor architecture metrics to ensure value and efficiency of architecture processes for the business domain
Provide oversight to ensure compliance with the blueprints and reference architecture
Maintain end-to-end view of the ODM strategy, processes and the underlying technologies used to achieve the strategy while also seeking emerging technologies that positively impact the business domain strategies and processes
Establish and communicate strategy, reference architecture, blueprint and roadmap to senior management while developing teams through presentations, training and other appropriate means and forums
Actively participate in the evaluation of emerging technologies
Keep abreast of leading changes in their field of expertise and evaluate for impact on strategic roadmaps and applicability for adoption/obsolescence
Conduct technical research to identify and introduce new technical components into the environment that address the required technical capabilities
Assist with the selection of vendor products and technologies
Collaboratively ensure reuse of data and technical components within and across pillars

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

2+ years of experience as a solution architect on enterprise level projects
2+ years .net or java development experience
8+ year of professional experience in information technology
2+ years of experience as a solution architect working with application or data integration
Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas (both verbally and in writing) to executives and technologists
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications:

Twin Cities, MN preferred – consideration given for the following locations, but 25% travel is required: Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; Basking Ridge, NJ; Raleigh, NC; Rocky Hill, CT
Knowledge of healthcare data
Experience with SOA
Experience with Hadoop architecture
Experience with architectural diagramming including UML notation
