We are currently seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager in the Optum Technology Organization supporting UHG Information Systems. In this highly visible role, the Senior Project Manager will be engaged in leading a broad range of critical Information Technology projects and programs. Projects will encompass a broad range of corporate services systems with enterprise programs that may run across multiple business lines and the full array of UHG systems.
 
 This role may require travel up to 25%.    
Primary Responsibilities:
 

Partnering with IT, Business, Contract and Vendor partners to manage and drive plan/system integrations and contract transition activities
Works closely with PMO to track leads to drive dependencies and manage vendor/partner execution as relates to successful IT delivery
Experience in working with software development methodologies as the effort may require integration and alignment of multiple approaches from internal and external software developers
Experience in testing and infrastructure delivery is a major plus as the role will likely involve significant interactions with test process and environments
Adept and experienced managing interactions with senior and executive leadership (Director level, VP level and C level)
Aligning technology solutions with business strategies through the delivery of a portfolio of projects
Proactively identify opportunities, conduct analyses, needs assessments, cost/benefit assessments and broker other IS services
Leading large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives
Predicting emerging customer needs and develops innovative solutions to meet them
Participates in the development of business strategy
Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
Influences senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches
Develops detailed project plans in support of IT projects
Solid analytical, problem-solving and financial analysis skills

Requirements


Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
7 or more years Project Management experience in a large enterprise environment (Fortune 200)
7 or more years of requirements gathering
Infrastructure project related experience
Strong customer facing experience and consultative skills
Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) project management
5 or more years of budget tracking and complex cost benefit analysis experience
Must have an understanding of Web based solutions and architecture
Prior experience building and managing relationships across a large enterprise at every level  with the ability to influence decisions from top down and bottom up
C-level interface and presentation skills
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:

Health care insurance background
Experience delivering to and/or supporting external customer base
Knowledge of State/Federal compliance and regulations
PMP Certification or Exposure to multiple PM methodologies
Process implementation & re-engineering
Understanding of claims processing
Medicaid and Medicare related experience
Big 4 or Professional Services experience
