Deli Clerk 2 - Full-time / Part-time

We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Deli Clerk 2.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

• Must have 2 or more years experience.

FLSA:  Non-exempt (Hourly rate; eligible for overtime)

Reports to:  DELI MANAGER

Summary: 

To assure high quality customer service and assist in department operations.  Provide support toward department objectives and helps to drive sales. 

Assignments and work direction will be provided by Deli Manager, Deli Merchandiser, or the manager/person in charge.

Essential Functions:

• Follow all Red Shirt Service guidelines at all times
• Greet each customer as they approach the Deli Counter
• Process each customer order with proper quantities, quality and price
• Promote product through sampling,  selling sessions, and suggestive selling
• Answer questions and provide assistance as needed
• Assist customers with specific requests and special orders
• Ensure proper service and procedures are being followed i.e.: showing the first slice
• Ensure deliveries are properly received and put away
• Assist with product ordering
• Process all department paperwork
• Assist with department inventories
• Help to develop and coordinate aggressive and creative merchandising plans
• Help the Deli Manager set all cases and displays per instructions given
• Assist with proper planning of all displays
• Assist with proper ordering of sale merchandise
• Ensure all safety measures are considered at all times and any violations are communicated to the Deli Manager or Person in Charge
• Proper use of Cleaning and Sanitation Log
• Department is to be organized at all times
• Help stock shelves and/or face the department as needed
• Sweep and mop floors daily
• Clean and sanitize all work surfaces
• Communicate and work with the Deli Manager or Person in Charge at all times
• Assist the Deli Manager in monitoring operation to ensure that proper sales and gross profit dollars are being generated
• Follow job assignments left daily
• Attend department meetings as scheduled
• Ensure cases are full, clean, and attractive
• Code date product and remove all out dated product or product unfit for sale
• Abide by all store and department policies as stated in the teammate hand book and any other manuals
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management
