About this job

We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Meat Cutter.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

  • Must have 1 or more years experience.

Requirements

FLSA:  Non-exempt (Hourly rate; eligible for overtime)      

Reports to:  Meat Manager

Summary:   To assure high quality customer service and assist in department operations.  Provide support toward department objectives and helps to drive sales. 

Assignments and work direction will be provided by Meat Manager, Meat Merchandiser, or the manager/person in charge.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow all Red Shirt Service guidelines at all times
  • Greet each customer as they approach the meat department
  • Process each customer order with proper quantities, quality and price
  • Promote product through selling sessions and suggestive selling
  • Utilize correct procedures for credit returns and exchanges
  • Answer questions and provide assistance as appropriate
  • Assist customers with specific requests
  • Assist Meat Manager in monitoring operation to Assure that proper sales and gross profit dollars are being generated
  • Cuts/grinds all meat properly; in the manner and of the quality that meets company expectations
  • Follows proper procedures as trained
  • Follows instructions given to completion
  • Rotate product
  • Assure that cases are full, clean, and attractive
  • Code date product and remove all out dated product or product unfit for sale
  • Set all cases and displays as per instructions
  • Reduce shrink
  • Avoid unnecessary waste
  • Complete next day preparation
  • Assure proper sanitation and organization of department
  • Assure proper food handling and labeling procedures
  • Follows all department cleaning and sanitation procedures are followed
  • Follows all department food handling procedures are followed
  • Follows all store and department policies as stated in the teammate handbook and any other manuals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
