A Gator's Dockside Server is responsible for all facets of the guest experience from the time they enter the restaurant until the time that they leave the restaurant. Servers must read and understand all training materials as well as utilize those materials and guidelines in order to perfect the guest's experience while in our restaurant and servers are expected to retain a current food safety certification. Servers will have full knowledge of the restaurant's food menu, promotions and specials; present them to every guest every time in a friendly manner while providing service standards throughout their term of employment. It is the server's ultimate responsibility to greet guests in a friendly approach, with a smile in a timely manner, receive their orders correctly and input them into the kitchen correctly via our computer systems. The servers must ensure the accuracy of each order as they are brought to the tables and correct any mistakes in a timely manner. Servers will interact with management, as well as all hourly employees in a friendly and non-coercive manner to carry out their assigned duties and provide each guest with the ultimate dining experience. Servers, at times, will be responsible for training new servers as well as helping with the training of other support staff members as well as completing their own assigned side-work duties. Each server will be responsible for carrying and handling cash, credit cards, traveler's checks, and loose change with accuracy and dependability. It is the server's duty to pay all money owed to the restaurant at the end of each shift and to declare all tips earned. Each Server will report any guest complaint or potential problem to the manager on duty immediately and will, to the best of their ability, attempt to correct the problem. Servers will make drinks and desserts, serve food to guests, bus and pre-bus all tables, and maintain all common area work places. At times a server may be asked to assist with food preparation or in the washing of dishes as directed by management. As with all hourly employees, a server must adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook as well as all training materials and corporate documents. It is the specific duty of all employees of Gator's Dockside to help with the cleaning and maintaining of all common areas of the restaurant as directed by management including but not limited to: restrooms, dining room floors, kitchen floors, restaurant walls, shelving, sidewalks, windows, doors, games, ice and soda machines, drink stations, carpets, tables, chairs, and cabinets. As well personal hygiene and cleanliness is always required.
