The Assistant Manager (AM) is an important support person to the Store Manager (SM), the Store TEAM, and the overall Retail Division. It is critical that they have first mastered the knowledge, skills and job responsibilities that are expected of the Sales Associate. It is also the responsibility of the Assistant Manager to be able to perform Sales Associate's duties.


Given that mastery, the job description of an Assistant Manager is as follows:

1. Keeping employees focused on effective store operations, customer service, and their completion of everyday tasks.
2. Providing a role model to Sales Associates that encourages the following:
a. Proper cash handling procedures
b. Interior and exterior store cleanliness
c. Attention to the safety and security of our customers, co-workers and assets
d. Customer service to all guests that will bring them back to our store for repeat business.
e. Sound merchandising skills
f. Following and enforcing Company policies
g. Inspiring Employees, and holding them accountable. limited
h. While leading by example, train and encourage co-workers to regularly “Help Customers' Buy”, and Suggestive Selling techniques.

3. Provide a supporting management role in the store, primarily when the Store Manager is not on duty, by …
a. Functioning responsibly in the store environment, while keeping the Company's best interest in mind.
b. Being the primary line of communication to the SM about store situations occurring when the SM is off duty.
c. Demonstrating a thorough working knowledge of store operations and procedures
d. Knowing store inventory movement, and have the capacity to generate orders from authorized vendors.
e. Developing a full working knowledge of all accounting and paper work functions of the SM in order to effectively run the store in the absence of the SM
f. Have a full understanding and knowledge of all Month end reporting functions
g. Understanding and assisting in PCI compliance.
h. Having reliable transportation to perform surveys and banking duties, as required
i. Making sure vendors and service contractor's sign in and out of the Site Service Log.
j. Working with vendors and service contractors to effect results in the best interest of the Company.
k. Keeping employee and customer morale positive.
