Summary: The Shift Leader is responsible for supervising shifts ensuring superior quality of service. Provides direction to the team and demonstrates teamwork behaviors by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned).
Sales & Guest
1. Interacts with guests, resolves complaints and ensures exceptional guest service from all team members.*
2. Ensures store meets all cleanliness standards, interior and exterior of the restaurant.
3. Ensures that food quality and taste standards are met.
4. Ensures food handling and preparation are in accordance with recipe guidelines.
5. Ensures team members are meeting guest needs through order taking, suggestive selling, order delivery and follow-up.
People
1. Provides open and timely communication with all team members.
2. Demonstrates proactive involvement with team members and guests during shift.
3. Reviews and documents all restaurant communication using available software (e.g. CTUIT, PeopleMatter).
4. Trains and supervises team members as required, ensuring all sales, guest, people, profit and compliance standards are met.*
5. Addresses all team member conflicts and complaints. Provides feedback and reports situations to store management. Document incidents as required.
6. Ensures team members follow Lolita's safety policies. Provides training and coaching as needed.*
Profit
1. Follows all cash handling procedures. Report any cash shortages to GM.*
2. Complete inventory of all items as required by Lolita's (food, dry goods, alcohol, packaging, bags) on a weekly and monthly basis.*
3. Audits all food storage areas for labeling and rotation of items.
4. Inspects food for proper portioning, temperature, and plating, completing checklists as required by management.
5. Works with store management team to achieve Lolita's goals by meeting labor management, food costs and inventory levels.*
Compliance
1. Ensures sanitation requirements meet health department and Lolita's standards.
2. Conducts periodic restaurant safety and equipment inspection inside and outside the restaurant.
3. Manages team member breaks and meal periods effectively and maximizes guest service while adhering to the law.*
4. Ensures that restaurant complies with all internal policies and external regulations and laws, including but not limited to a harassment free work environment.*
5. Effectively opens and/or closes the restaurant according to Lolita's standards.
