As a Director Specialty Strategy, you will ensure that our products are optimized to satisfy a complex set of goals, and to drive future growth. In this role you will provide national thought leadership on the best ways to design and build health benefit plans.  In particular, you will identify and recommend optimal benefit design and cost-sharing approaches.  You will be empowered to harness the impressive data and other resources to determine what works best under what conditions, and to communicate that to many areas that will rely on your expertise and put it to use.

Primary Responsibilities:

Think strategically, and creatively, about how health benefit plan designs should be structured to satisfy multiple, and sometimes conflicting, goals: consumer satisfaction, employer satisfaction, cost control, appropriate incentives, complex federal and state regulations, and operational constraints
Use a mix of common-sense / qualitative and quantitative analytic approaches to find the right answers
Clearly communicate through written documentation, presentations, and ad-hoc discussions best-practice plan design recommendations, and the reasoning behind them
Navigate and influence multiple cross-functional teams in a complex, matrixed work environment
Key partners will include various individuals and teams focused on new product development, market-based product portfolio management, actuarial pricing, internal operations, and regulatory / filing issues
Manage cross-segment projects and initiatives that require problem solving, relationship building, influencing and analyzing

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree
6-8 years of progressively responsible experience in corporate strategy, growth and / or business planning
The ability to motivate others to work together as part of a team, and encourage employee engagement
Ability to negotiate, persuade and make effective presentations to varying audiences internal and external to the organization. Ability to establish credibility, and to be decisive and results oriented while balancing varying business considerations / priorities
Experience preferred managing pharmacy operations, account management and strategy and relations with a demonstrated focus on project management leadership
Ability to establish and manage multiple priorities, vet proposals and arrive at critical decisions in a timely manner to develop and implement initiatives
Strong financial acumen
Strong customer focus and passion for results
Effective leadership skills with demonstrated negotiation skills
Ability to balance multiple competing demands, manage conflict, identify solutions and effectively plan and pace work is critical
Preferred Qualifications:


Master’s degree (MBA, MS)  in Business, healthcare administration, or a related field
