Claims Intake Specialist

We are seeking a Claims Investigator to work in our Corporate Headquarters based out of McLean, VA.

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

Primary Responsibilities

• Investigate all professional and general liability incident reports
• Responsible for tracking all incident reports for the purpose of trends and reports

• Prepare and/or assist in the preparation and presentation of periodic reports; and
• Assist in claims management activities such as responding to discovery requests, etc.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum 5 years’ experience investigating claims

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Able to relate cooperatively and constructively with internal and external customers
• Ability to identify potential risk/quality issues and to analyze and prepare reports
• Ability to interpret, adapt and react calmly under stressful situations
• Knowledge of clinical nursing, negligence, claims/litigation, risk management principles
• Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing background is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
