PROJECT MANAGER – LEAD GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER

Salary: $85,000-$95,000 year

An outstanding engineering firm is seeking a leader with project management, lead geotechnical engineering experience and an entrepreneurial spirit. In addition, ideal candidates will have excellent communication skills, advanced business acumen, and the ability to perform various business development tasks. Project experience in the Power Delivery market sector (electrical transmission line and substation design/construction) is desired. Experience in other markets is a plus. Travel is required for this position.

Project Management Duties:
•Plans, organizes, and controls the activities of projects, as well as his/her own activities to best accomplish the successful completion of all assigned projects while operating within the guidelines established by the Company and Service Line Manager(s) and within the policies and procedures established for Project Management.
•Accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to a level of quality expected by the client.
•Participating in the management of the Company’s risk through proper project scoping, contract reviews, understanding the Standard of Care, and clear communication with the Client as well as internal staff.
•Accountable for meeting Company financial requirements on a project level.
•Builds relationships with clients through thoughtful communication and sound project execution

Geotechnical Engineering Duties:
•Prepares/checks/reviews analyses, drawings, specifications, reports, proposals, and project schedules
•Engineer of Record responsibility
•Mentoring staff
•Developing guidelines and procedures
•Coordination with other project stakeholders
•Performs field assignments

Education
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program

Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (focus in Geotechnical Engineering) is preferred.

Experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience.

10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience with power transmission line projects and a consulting services environment is preferred.

Professional Engineer’s License is required for this position.
