Epic Mix Photo Manager

This dynamic person must have a passion for photography and superior guest service, as well as a desire to lead and manage people. The primary duties will include (but not be limited to), daily on-mountain management of the operation; training, coaching, development and discipline of our photographers. They will work with local resort management as well as the Corporate EpicMix Photo Director and representitives to determine the resort specific photo operations and policies and monitor compliance of all department and company policies and directives. They must also maintain a comprehensive understanding of EpicMix, EpicMix Photo and have a general appreciation for social media.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily oversight of Supervisors, Leads and photographers on the mountain to ensure the standards of engagement, uniforms, and quality photographs are met
  • Interviewing, Hiring and training of all staff
  • Responsible for performance management of photographers at location, including disciplinary actions, coaching and conducting performance appraisals.
  • Must be proficient in MS Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Provide on-mountain training to photographers to assist with portrait set up and fine tuning shot locations
  • Provide a high level of proactive guest service in all guest interactions.  Serves as escalation point if necessary.
  • Provide leadership and assistance in sales locations, including cash handling, producing and delivering final products
  • Assist in the production and selling of  photos using windows based  software
  • Facilitate meetings to review zone assignments, special areas of daily focus, daily training topics, safety, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment inventory; oversee distribution in and out of the office facilitate any needed maintenance.
  • Perform daily photo back up and photo review for quality assurance and to provide feedback on quality back to photographers.
  • Manage any and all customer service including but not limited to missing image research and recovery
  • Direct on site oversight   to ensure proper set-up and functioning  of photo zones, kids programs, action zone, and Auto Cams where applicable
  • Manage special requests both internal and external, including special shooting events such as races, special group photos or family portraits.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate submittal of time and labor.
  • Follow all company and department safety procedures
  • In operations with an Auto-Cam or Ride Capture system, managers will be expected to learn and have comprehensive understanding of how the system functions. Including knowledge of the software, basic hardware set up and troubleshooting, and how to sell from the system.
  • Handle other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

•             High School education required, College degree preferred

•             Photography Experience in a professional setting,

•             Previous supervisory experience

•             Very strong computer skills

•             Must have the ability to communicate fluently (written and oral) in English

•             Excellent guest service skills

•             Passion for photography

•             Solid understanding of basic photographic concepts of composition, proper exposure, proper focus; able to operate and adjust a DSLR (Camera)

•             Comfortable working with a DSLR camera and tethered minicomputer and scanner

•             Advanced knowledge of camera settings, ski portraiture and the ability to teach those skills to photographers

•             Proven leadership skills

•             Must be outgoing and engaging

•             Must be able and willing to work outdoors in variable weather conditions indicative of the High Alpine environment in winter

•             Travel to various mountain locations requiring level 7 ski or snowboard skills.  This position skis or snowboards as a means of transportation only.

•             Ability to stand up to 6 hours during shift

•             Must be able to work weekends, and holidays

•             Must be able to lift 40+ lbs

•             Must be able to commit to scheduled hours and dates

•             Cash handling experience

•             Previous retail sales and or customer service experience
