Join the top Mobile eCommerce web site development team. The Mobile Home Depot site has been the highest performing eCommerce site since the launch of our new front-end architecture in April 2015 (according to Keynote). We are using HTML 5, CSS3, RequireJS, SASS and Mustache to build out our modular UI. We are looking for a front-end engineer, who is extremely passionate about their craft, to join our extremely talented team 

The Front End Developer will play an intergral role in internal development project teams serving as a front end development expert and resource for project scoping and requirements gathering.

Responsibilities also include writing standards-compliant mobile cross-browser code, fixing/resolving bugs and defects, contributing to the functional design and architecture of the website and will also serve as a Mobile Front-End development subject matter expert across the enterprise.


MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -

  • Work within a team of peers to:
  • Detail technical designs and specifications
  • Develop, compile and unit test builds for delivery to QA
  • Comply with established design and coding standards
  • Meet or exceed established code quality metrics
  • Ensure web operations and non-functional system requirements are met prior to production deployment
  • Support a metrics-driven approach to continuously improve code quality
  • Assist triage and resolution for production issues as they arise

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
  • 5+ years of software development experience with at least 3 years of mobile web experience
  • Should have in-depth experience writing clean code using semantic standards compliant HTML targeting multiple Mobile browsers and operating systems.
  • Should have expertise developing and testing across multiple devices including different screen resolutions.
  • Should have the ability to interpret and develop high quality code based on business requirements, wireframes and creative briefs.
  • Should have a solid understanding of WebKit core and the differences between Mobile manufacturer and carrier implementations.
  • Experience leading small development teams and the ability to write technical documentation.
  • Experience with SVN and Eclipse development environments.
  • Experience with CSS frameworks such as Compass and Bootstrap.
  • Experience with JavaScript MVC frameworks such as Backbone, Angular or Ember.
  • Experience with JavaScript templating engines such as Mustache and Handlebars.
  • Experience with JavaScript libraries such as JQuery and Zepto.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Selenium, Jasmine or Mocha.
  • Experience with SASS or LESS.
  • Would be a plus to have experience with responsive and RESS development strategies.

EDUCATION REQUIRED -

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not
objectionable.

TRAVEL -
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must pass the Drug Test.
  • Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
  • Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).
