Procurement Manager, Sales & Marketing

The Procurement Manager, Sales & Marketing is responsible for supporting the Director of Procurement in the development of strategic sourcing, efficiency and value optimization programs for the Dr Pepper Snapple Group. The Procurement Manager, Sales & Marketing is primarily responsible for the strategic sourcing of multiple, complex indirect spend categories to ensure cost effectiveness and performance standards in alignment with our internal Stakeholder Procurement strategy, category management structure, supplier management methodology and performance objectives. She/he will effectively collaborate with the internal stakeholders (both local and regional in nature) to deliver best value and solutions to the company and its clients.

The manager role requires the ideal candidate working in a fast-paced environment, as well as hands on involvement, as an individual contributor with procurement activities including negotiating and managing a wide spectrum of purchasing categories within the Corporate Indirect area.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing Management of assigned category(s)

• Drive effective and data driven supplier negotiation based on internal and external benchmarking data, market trends, and supplier price models to support the category sourcing strategies execution to meet DPSG business objectives.

• In conjunction with key business partners develop Sourcing Strategy to address and meet business needs.

• Lead geographically distributed, cross-functional teams in the development of sourcing strategies for key indirect expenditure categories which may include, but are not limited to, Sales and Marketing; Professional Services; Travel.
• Oversee the sourcing process to select and manage suppliers that provide maximum value to the company.

· Be accountable for compliance with our internal policies, contractual obligations and DPS Ethical Sourcing practices as stated in our Supplier Code of Conduct.
• Develop indirect procurement benchmark standards and conduct gap analysis with “best practices".
• In conjunction with the business key stakeholders, initiate, direct and conduct all activities relating to negotiating, evaluating, selecting, and implementing preferred supplier contracts.

• Negotiate contracts with suppliers. Collaborate with key stakeholders to define the roles, responsibilities for supplier management.

· Lead or support Rapid Continuous Improvement (RCI) activities in an effort to improve across five important planks – safety, quality, delivery, productivity and growth. RCI is a standardized way of problem solving and a set of Lean and Six Sigma tools that focuses on reducing the time spent on processes that don't add value to our customers.

• Provide Procurement expertise and assistance to the Purchasing Unit. Be an expert in administering a Strategic Sourcing process (example, 8-step).
• Develop & refine the procurement processes to minimize efforts & maximize benefits through compliance & specification controls.
• Define best practices in sourcing (e.g. Traditional RFQ/RFP/RFI, on line Auction, Collaborative sourcing, etc.).

• Negotiate, develop and cultivate long-term relationships with strategic suppliers.
• Establish & maintain a master contract management system for all spends within scope
o RFP Development
o Identify preferred contractor pool
o Strong negotiations skills & execution management
• Contracting & contract administration

• Select, maintain, and manage a supplier base that is financially sound, technically competent, and strategically aligned, including supplier performance standards and measurements; ensure and manage supplier governance and compliance.

• Assess risk and ensure business continuity plans in place for all goods and services.

Qualifications

· Bachelors degree required (MBA could be beneficial)

· 2 years of Extensive sourcing and procurement management of multiple categories

· 2 years of procurement experience in Sales and Marketing required

· 2 years of food & beverage or fast moving CPG with solid understanding of indirect processes
