OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION: The Area Hotel Sales Manager will direct the sales efforts for hotels in the Texas, Alabama and Florida areas.Previous experience with multiple hospitality brands including but not limited to:  Wyndham and Choice Hotels.

 

JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of the Area Hotel Sales Manager is directing the sales efforts for Hotels operated by Love's Hospitality.  Additionally, the position will provide direction to hotel management with the objective of maximizing revenue.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Provide direction and training to the hotel management teams, supplying them with the skills necessary to maintain existing customer base and attract new clients into the hotel.
  • Oversee hotel sales effort to ensure all aspects of the sales plans are executed allowing hotels to surpass revenue goals.
  • Routine property visits to assess hotel staff as well as accompany staff on outside sales calls.
  • Provide input and feedback to hotel teams assisting them with the execution of revenue management strategies.
  • Ensure timeliness of all sales assignments on the new hotel opening checklist.
  • Oversee collaborative efforts with various brands' National Sales Managers and ensure that hotels are executing brand sales strategies.
  • Promote hotels at pertinent trade shows as well as maintaining relationships with Global Sales Accounts that provide rooms to multiple hotels within the portfolio.
  • Responsible for driving sales and marketing campaigns in his or her assigned area.  
  • Responsible for reviewing and planning for event-specific needs such as flexible staffing levels and tailored product and service offerings.
  • Additional tasks and all other duties as assigned by the Corporate Manager of Hotel Sales and Marketing and Director of Hospitality.
  • Perform weekly and monthly projects and assigned tasks.
  • Maintain personal grooming and company uniform standards.
  • Maintain company attendance standards.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Hospitality, or related field or equivalent years of related work experience required
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years' of professional business experience required
    • 3+ years' experience as a Director of Sales in the Hospitality field required
    • Experience opening new hotels preferred
    • Accounting or financial budgeting experience required
    • Previous experience with multiple hospitality brands including but not limited to: Wyndham and Choice Hotels

  • Skills:
    • Hard Skills: Ability to learn and operate all facility equipment including computers.
  • Soft Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, time management and delegation skills, organization skills, can-do attitude, sense of urgency, and strong work ethic.
  • Typical Physical Demands:
    • Regularly required to talk and hear.
    • Requires standing and walking, with some bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
    • Occasional light lifting not over 30lbs
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outdoor elements in all seasons.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: The position will be based out of the Texas area, but up to half of the time may be spent traveling. Use of personal vehicle may be required.
