Job Summary
The Field Service Mechanic is a master technician who is a leader in product knowledge and quality specific to the Specialty Rental business which involves pumps, generators, power distribution, and HVAC including Heat, AC, Chillers, and Desiccant Dehumidifiers. This equipment serves our customers in industries including: Environmental and Restoration, Refineries and Petrochemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Sewer/Water/Municipal, Underground and General Contractors, Pipelines, Utilities and Industrial Facilities, Mining/Quarries, Entertainment and Special Events. This individual will travel to customer job sites to perform all aspects of service and maintenance in a timely manner while supporting a professional and safe work environment.
Responsibilities
Set up, repair, and operate equipment both in shop and at customer locations Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections on all equipment Diagnose problem areas for any significant wear and tear on equipment: Air Conditioners (up to 70 tons) and Chillers (up to 200 tons) Diesel Generators (up to 1000KW) Diesel Pumps (up to 18") Electric Pumps (up to 12") Hydraulics
Diagnose and troubleshoot: Fuel Systems Electrical Systems Hydraulic Systems Propane Systems Diesel/Gas Systems Communicate equipment issues with customers Complete work orders and service reports Assist in training of other Mechanics Assist shop lead with customer damage estimates and repairs Take service calls in absence of supervisor/lead and dispatch other field service mechanics as needed Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Valid driver's license with active medical card Own a general mechanic's tool set, capable of supporting a heavy equipment fleet, and be willing to expand their own personal tool collection Educational Background:
High school diploma and/or GED Professional Experience:
3-5 years of experience in maintenance of various pump, power, and climate control equipment Experience servicing, testing, and installing natural gas and diesel generators High School Degree/GED preferred
Knowledge:
Must have detailed knowledge and previous work experience working on internal combustion engines (gas and diesel), DC electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, track equipment and various construction equipment Possesses a solid understanding of welding techniques Skills:
Understands the importance of time management Ability to read and comprehend the standards of operating procedures, owner's manuals and product/warning labels Ability to operate large, heavy machinery Must be able to operate a 2 way radio, if necessary Ability to lift 50+ pounds Must possess solid written and verbal communication skills and be able to perform basic computer operations Customer service Competencies:
Team oriented General maintenance abilities Strong organizational skills Must exhibit a high level of safety consciousness and a clear understanding of equipment safety Good communication
