Part-Time (19 hrs/wk). Located in Mililani Technology Park.

PURPOSE STATEMENT: The purpose of this position is to monitor the operation of different systems to ensure proper video system performance as well as conduct AV quality control and workflow activities for local programming and ad insertion content.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports to the Dir, Video Engineering & Operations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Operates and monitors various types of video systems and software, ensuring that scheduled programming runs appropriately and at acceptable quality levels, for both pre-programmed and live scenarios.
  • Able to organize and coordinate multiple programming schedules.
  • Able to communicate effectively with on-site production teams.
  • Utilizes knowledge of audio, video, software, systems and file formats.
  1. Receives trouble calls and e-mails from different sources and works with the engineering team to assist in the prompt resolution of each problem.
  • Maintains the security of Video Operations Center and the Oceanic Time Warner facility.
  1. Has good working knowledge of relevant computer skills.
  • Preferably including non-linear video editing, general computer operation, productivity software, and an understanding of networking basics.
  1. Regular attendance is required.

OTHER DUTIES:
  1. May assist with content production for post-produced or live broadcast.
  2. Performs other duties as assigned.


HUMAN RELATIONS: Has frequent communication with other departments as well as outside agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Some experience with non-linear editing and computer systems is highly preferred. Stable employment history.

SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGES AND ABILITIES: Use of various programming and production equipment. Good verbal, written and interpersonal communications. Basic video file transfer and computer skills. Ability to follow directions and instructions efficiently and effectively coordinate the broadcast of scheduled programs and troubleshoot video file and file transcoding process.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Various studio and remote broadcasting equipment (these include but are not limited to: video servers, cross-converters, non-linear edit suites, on-air graphics systems, etc.).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

Hours:Days and hours to be determined, primarily 5:30pm to midnight or 9:00pm to 6:00am. Additional coverage as needed.
