Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative is a nonprofit organic farmer's cooperative of over 100 farmers in Lancaster County, PA. We focus on creating healthy high quality foods from our highly maintained and enriched soils on our small scale family farms. LFFC serves all of Eastern Pennsylvania, New York City, and most of the tri state area by connecting the farmer and customer, delivering the best local organic produce, value added products, and humanely raised and pastured animal products to retail establishments, co-ops, restaurants, and institutions.
LFFC is looking for a Meat, Dairy and Egg Coordinator with at least 3 years' experience working with animal products within the sustainable food industry. The ideal hire would have the necessary skills and experience to fulfill the following responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES/SKILLS
 Gains an understanding of LFFC's animal guidelines and standards
 Comprehends scheduling and sales forecasts for the CSA and the Wholesale departments
 Establishes relationships with farmers, vendors and processors
 Begins to determine scheduling, butcher cut sheets, and demand based on upcoming season
 Grasps current inventory numbers, scheduled animals and plan accordingly
 Plans 6-12 months of promotions based on scheduling inventory with Marketing Coordinator
 Researches growth opportunities with new customers as well as vendors that meet LFFC's guidelines
 Negotiates terms and volume discounts with vendors
 Establishes an inventory management system to ensure product turnover
 Understands the yearly sales cycles for meat, dairy and egg products and schedule accordingly
 Works independently while also taking each departments needs and goals into account
 Establishes a schedule with farmers/vendors that best meets the long-term goals of LFFC
 Increases sales and profits within all three categories by expanding customer base and established vendors
