Delivery Assistant

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Assist delivery driver.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Load and unload truck which may include feed, farm supplies, packaged fertilizer, packaged ag chemicals and seed.

2. Performs duties as assigned by immediate supervisor, which includes lifting, and moving inventory in the warehouse, showroom and outside lots.

3. Makes minor repairs and performs maintenance to trucks and other equipment maintaining operating condition.

4. Offers recommendations while on deliveries for future sales.

5. Dispense propane at filling stations, adhering to safety policies of the Southern States and Propane Company.

6. Adheres to SS No Tolerance Policy on Safety and Equipment.

7. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or equivalent

Requires physical strength and dexterity to walk, stand, bend, climb, reach, stoop, twist and lift/carry 100 pounds. Vision, hearing and speech essential. Hand coordination to use computer. Job requires contact with hazardous materials and drive/travel and work in adverse weather conditions.
