The driver/movers’s overall responsibility is to deliver the highest customer service in order to increase customer satisfaction level, referrals, market share, brand awareness, and the success of the franchise through safely driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV), packing, moving, and safely transporting household goods, and consistently exceeding customer expectations. The driver/mover should have general knowledge of functional support areas including customer service, DOT driver regulations, truck driving experience and moving skills.
Job Responsibilities
- Have physical strength and agility to carry and load items into truck for safe relocation.
- Works with other franchise employees to ensure exceptional customer service.
- Understands and executes the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® mission statement and core values.
- Team worker: must be able to listen and communicate in an effective, helpful and friendly manner with co-workers, customers and management.
- Safely pack/move/unpack customer’s belongings by utilizing all of the proper moving equipment and techniques and following current policies.
- Organizing and securing truck at the end of each job to ensure truck and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe and professional manner.
- Responsible for capturing all required and signed paperwork from customers including correct payment and properly turning it in at the end of the work day.
- Obtains customer feedback throughout the move to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and proactively resolve any complaints.
- Participates in selling boxes and protective equipment to customers by educating customers on best moving practices as needed.
- Establishes rapport and builds confidence in TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® customers in order to capture market share, business referrals, and exceptional reply cards.
- Practice proper personal hygiene.
- Report to work, and remain in, a fully compliant clean uniform in order to promote and protect the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® brand while on duty.
- Calmly and professionally handles displeased customers and provide timely feedback to management regarding customer concerns.
- Safely operates the CMV and ensures compliance with all State DOT regulations and FMCSA guidelines as pertaining to driver responsibilities.
- Continually maintains thorough understanding of all company products, services, pricing, and promotions including participating in regular training and development programs offered through STICK MEN UNIVERSITY® to further the knowledge of the system.
- Other duties as assigned by location manager or move manager.
Job Requirements
Because moving is stressful, we seek candidates with a commitment to customer service and an appreciation for variety in your job!
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- 21 years of age and 3 years of driving experience.
- A driving record (MVR) with no more than 2 minor violations in the last 3 years.
- Willing to submit to pre-employment background check and regular drug screens
- Knowledge of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® system policies, procedures, and industry standards.
- Excellent oral comprehension and communication skills.
- Language Skills: ability to effectively present information in small group situations to co-workers and customers.
- Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and decimals with United States dollars, weight measurements, distance, and time.
- Must have an understanding of common relocation forms and be able to properly complete them with the customer.
- Ability to count cash or confirm other payment options for proper payment on moves.
- Must be able to be insured under the franchise truck insurance plan.
- Physical demands: drivers are frequently required to stand, walk, talk, sit, hear, use hands and fingers, handle, feel and/or lift with hands and arms. Must be able to continuously lift, and place, up to 100lbs and be able to help with pieces up to 1000lbs.
