Pay $14/hr  - Evaluation  to hire

Monday - Friday 8am -5 pm

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Perform logistical tasks related to shipment and receipt of incoming and outgoing product, stock and inventory
  • Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records 
  • Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons
  • Posts weights and shipping charges , and affixes postage
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Routes items to departments
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • May operate tier-lift truck or use hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
  • May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments
  • May perform only shipping or receiving activities and be known as Shipping Clerk (clerical) or Receiving Clerk (clerical)
  • May be designated according to specialty as Freight Clerk (clerical); Reshipping Clerk (clerical)
  • May receive damaged or defective goods returned to establishment and be designated Returned-Goods Receiving Clerk (clerical) 

 

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND ABILITIES 

  • Education: High school or equivalent
  • Experience: 1-3 years in a manufacturing production assembly, shipping or logistical environment
  • Certificates and Licenses: none 
  • Must be able to read, understand and apply blueprints, job/part specifications, measuring devices and tools, various production sheets, stock and inventory documentation and shipping/receiving documentation
  • Must have basic computer skills and ability to prepare and use various software to perform job functions and good math skills
  • Must be able to communicate verbal and written with supervisors, management, vendors and coworkers regarding work related tasks, coordination, schedules and other job related issues 
  • Must possess strong safety attitude and ability to adhere to all safety requirements and practices
