The Financial Analyst is an entry level position in our financial reporting and support team. The position assists in activities associated with the daily business support of our field personnel and Whelan management team. The successful candidate will be able to balance billing and scheduling tasks while assisting in special projects and system maintenance. This position requires proactive thinking and the ability to meet daily challenges with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Qualifications

Principal function responsibilities:
  • Regional billing
  • Scheduling review
  • Operational support and training to branch offices
  • Special projects to support branch profitability
  • Assist with supplier management (i.e. national cell phone accounts, fleet)
  • Job cost analysis/budgeting
  • Pu0026amp;L analysis
  • Coordination of Branch requests within the Shared Support Services Accounting/Finance Team
Basic requirements:
  • Assist in daily scheduling and billing requirements for assigned Region
  • Performs financial analyses at the branch and job level and develops recommendations for site leadership; considers and conducts additional analyses as appropriate
  • Assists in developing financial controls, procedures, systems, and forecasting techniques to evaluate contract/program status and ensure compliance with government and customer requirements
  • Develops management reports using database structures and end user interfaces to provide information to the appropriate personnel as needed
  • Maintains integrity of accounting and budgeting software systems by checking for errors and inconsistencies.
The candidate should be a self-starter and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands. In addition, the ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact with all levels of the organization is essential to the position.

Education

Candidates must meet the following educational requirements:
  • 4-year business related degree is required. Emphasis in finance or accounting is preferred.
