As a Manager of Application Development, you would lead, manage, or assist in managing a dynamic team with a focus on writing code and developing applications leveraging multiple tools, languages, processes, and technologies.  This role functions as the lead of an Formulary applications development team of 4 to 6 employees and helps to coordinate the work of 20-30 offshore resources 
Primary Responsibilities:
·         Lead a team of developers responsible for the design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, delivery and support of the supported applications
·         Perform general management functions including participating in technical assessments, performance reviews, mentoring, hiring, training and work assignment.
·         Plan, organize and lead technical aspects of large scale projects to successful conclusion
·         Lead others toward technical accomplishment, as a collaborative project team, in order to achieve project goals
·         Development of new processes and procedures within the development process to increase productivity while maintaining a high level of quality
·         Solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business
·         Serve as technical subject matter expert.  
·         Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
·         Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches
·         Create metrics to track and measure capacity, defects, performance enhancement
·         Adapt quickly to fast-paced change

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
·         Bachelor's Degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience
·         3+ years Software Development Management experience
·         5+ years technical experience in one or more aspects of Systems Development
·         Experience in managing onshore & offshore IT Development resources
·         Strong relational database/SQL experience
·         Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) project management
·         Budget tracking and complex cost benefit analysis
·         Ability to build and manage relationships across a large enterprise
·         Proficiency in computer software such as Project, Power Point, Excel
·         May travel up to 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:
·         Post-graduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience
·         Experience in Java, JSF and/or C
·         PBM industry experience
·         Exposure to multiple PM methodologies
·         Process implementation & re-engineering
·         Ability to influence decisions from top down and bottom up
·         Solid analytical, problem-solving and financial analysis skills
