We are currently hiring a Senior IT Architecture Consultant for the Optum Enterprise Solution Engineering and Delivery Group. 
In this role you will work as a key part of a dynamic team focused on providing architectural support on application and strategic initiatives. Promoting our Cloud adoption strategic initiative and supporting systems. You will be exposed to new technologies and afforded opportunities to work on the rapid growth technology solution sector within the healthcare space. This is a high visibility role with considerable opportunity for driving innovation and providing technical leadership in a group poised for growth.
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the design and/or implementation of infrastructure platforms supporting large and mid-scale multi-tier applications. They will be using these skills to design practical solutions across a variety of technologies to meet business requirements. Candidate should also possess a proven track record of owning and driving projects to successful completion.
Primary Responsibilities:



You will add value through alignment of business constituent needs and technology solutions within enterprise standards

You will facilitate solutions that serve the enterprise mission of modernization and simplification

You will provide innovative solutions and support for a wide cross section of technical challenges

You will lead and collaborate with domain development teams and Application Architects as the primary Infrastructure Architecture Consultant

You will coordinate, administer and support road mapping, blue printing and solution implementation activities

You will work with solution delivery teams on the actual implementations (end-to-end) as contracts close

You will find yourself in a role which mixes that of individual contributor and technical team lead depending on the engagement

Required Qualifications:

10+ years of overall IT experience
5+ years of focused experience in an infrastructure discipline (design, operational support, presales)
4+ years of experience in a technical architecture/solutions role
2+ years of experience doing in depth design, implementation or troubleshooting for hosted applications meeting the following criteria:
Large (1,000+ concurrent users) or mid-scale (250-1,000 concurrent users),
Multi-tier (e.g. Hosted J2EE or .Net deployments incorporating multiple integration points with other applications)
Ability to travel on occasion (up to 10%) in the US
United States Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:

Focused experience in multiple infrastructure disciplines
Understanding of enterprise application architecture design patterns and how they translate into infrastructure deployments
A strong understanding of:
J2EE
Database integration
Message queuing
Virtualized server delivery
Network load balancing & firewalls
Highly available and geo-diverse configurations
Experience with evolving cloud strategies
