ABOUT US: The George J. Falter Company was established in 1878, with candy being the main commodity. Falter Company warehouses and distributes frozen foods, beverages, dry groceries, automotive supplies, food service products, health and beauty aids, and more.

The successful candidate for this position will be able to efficiently and independently manage night shift operational functions and lead a staff of 30+ people in a structured and resourceful manner.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Direct, coordinate, and synchronize the following operational functions:

          - Sales order entry and routing assignment for after-hours orders         requiring next day delivery

          - Administration of the PickRight server and applications

          - Assignment and logging of PickRight equipment computers, printers, and label

          - Truck preparation (re-fueling and post-trip inspection review)

          - Late driver check-in for product returns and turn-in review

          - Order picking, packing, and auditing via PickRight

          - Cigarette stamp machine operation and post-shift cleaning

          - Truck loading coordination - Loading setup, LoadRight application execution, and load completion (photograph, lock, and seal)

          - Sales order invoicing

          - Route Out of Stock Report review and back-fill

          - Warehouse upkeep product restocking

          - Pre- and post-shift warehouse inspection walk-throughs

  • Personnel management, including recruiting, hiring, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary measures, and terminations
  • Development, maintenance, and enforcement of company policies and procedures
  • Communicate and respond to problems, issues. and concerns to/from day shift operations group
  • Other duties as assigned by management

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Personnel management experience for 30+ staff in a similar operational environment
  • Night shift experience
  • Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, etc)
  • Forklift operation certification (including lock-out/tag-out experience and ability to train others for certification)
  • Basic mechanical skills (not required, but a plus)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic First Aid skills, including CPR
  • High School diploma or equivalent
