Position Summary:
This position is responsible for participating in developing and maintaining project-specific quality plans, assuring compliance to customer requirements throughout the life-cycle of the project, conducting quality inspections, investigating and resolving CAPAs, performing internal and external ISO audits, conducting root-cause analysis studies, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, preparing required quality documentation, publishing quality metrics and maintaining and updating quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Participate in developing and maintaining project-specific quality plans, including establishing quality requirements and standards for projects, while adhering to the customer requirements and working as part of a cross-functional team.
2. Assure compliance to the customer requirements throughout the life-cycle of the project. May interface directly with the customer to resolve issues.
3. Conduct quality inspections to include; in-process, receipt, first article, source and final, assuring compliance to customer, ISO and all other relevant standards.
4. Investigate and resolve all assigned Corrective And Preventative Actions (CAPAs).
5. Perform both internal ISO audits and external supplier audits.
6. Conduct root-cause analysis studies to identify and correct process issues. Perform gauge R&R, process capability and machine studies along with SPC and trend analysis.
7. Identify continuous improvement opportunities and support efforts in order to implement LEAN principles throughout the organization.
8. Prepare required quality documentation and reports. Publish and distribute quality metrics.
9. Maintain and update quality procedures.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• A related machine trades certificate/diploma, OR, four years relevant experience.
• Intermediate ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with geometric dimensioning and shop math.
• Working knowledge of basic machine shop inspection processes and measurement practices and proficient with selecting, calibrating and using precision machine shop gauging.
• Ability to detect and identify typical defects found in materials.
• Experience conducting quality audits.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability in a machine shop environment using established problem-solving techniques (i.e. 8D, Fishbone, 5Y).
• Experience programming and operating CMM and/or laser tracking devices.
• Familiarity with QA and CAD software packages.
• Demonstrated experience using statistical analysis, SPC and gauge R&R studies.
• Experience using an ERP system.
