Joppa, MD - Macy's Logistics: Maintenance Mechanic, Full Time

Job Overview:

Macy's Logistics is currently seeking candidates for the position of Maintenance Mechanic

Essential Functions:

• Maintain and repair conveyor systems, powered equipment and other fulfillment center systems including electrical, electronic controls, pneumatic, hydraulic and HVAC
• Participate with maintenance related projects including construction
• Follow all standard operating procedures
• Adhere to all safety practices, for your safety and the safety of others
• Work independently or as part of a team
• Operate in extreme temperatures
• Follow written and verbal instructions

Qualifications:

Communication Skills

• Must have good communication, people skills and be able to develop positive relations with all levels of management and hourly work force.

Reasoning Ability

• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Physical Demands

• Must be able to work off of ladders at least 12 feet above grade and Scissor lifts 30 feet above grade.
• Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds.

• Works harmoniously and effectively with others as part of a team.
• Must be open and prepared to perform any reasonable task assigned and follow direction provided by Dept. executive, supervisor or mechanic when working directly with mechanics.
• Ability to work with hand tools, operate electric drills, grinders, sewer augers and other tools necessary for maintaining equipment throughout the facility.
