The Crowne Plaza located in the heart of Downtown Columbus, Ohio is currently seeking a Sales and Catering Coordinator. The Sales & Catering Coordinator solicits new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals for the Visiting Baseball Team Market, and details Citywide and Business Transient Groups booked in the Hotel. 

 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Possess a strong sales focus with their main goal of soliciting new and existing business for the property consisting of telephone solicitation, outside cold calls, entertainment and site inspections. 
  • Develop and negotiate proposals and contracts to achieve maximum revenue and profit potential while exceeding client needs. 
  • Prepare for site inspections, correspondence to customers, internal booking reports, and file maintenance. 
  • Participate in daily revenue meeting, sales strategy meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales related meetings. (as required) 
  • Manage and coordinate details for Visiting Baseball Teams, Citywide and Business Transient bookings, in regards to overnight room blocks, meeting/event details (Banquet Event Orders), billing, pre- and/or post-con meetings, and internal group Resumes. 
  • Work well with other departments within the Hotel to provide quality service to our customers.
  • Attend trade shows and community events related to your market and/or accounts. 
  • Learn and assist with any additional department reporting .
  • Participate in weekly revenue calls.
  • Assist the  Director of Sales with other duties as requested/required.

Requirements

  • Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Mail Merges, Email and Web searches. 
  • Knowledge of Delphi preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone with high level of professionalism to deal effectively with all types of personalities.
  • Superb organizational skills – ability to prioritize, multi-task, direct and solve problems effectively without little supervision.
  • Highly enthusiastic and self-motivated. 
  • Time management and ability to prioritize projects .
  • Ability to work with and win over multiple personalities when working toward a common goal for a successful overall outcome.
  • Ability to work collectively and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure all details are communicated and flawlessly executed.
  • Previous Hotel and/or Banquets experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or High School diploma combined with Hospitality/Hotel experience.
