This is the place to do your life's best work.(sm)The OptumRx Strategic Initiative and Project Consultant supports financial and operational efforts managing the supply chain of the OptumRx Network (pharmacies, manufacturers, wholesalers, ancillary facilities, etc.). This includes the contracting and unit cost management activities through financial and network pricing modeling, analysis, and reporting. Responsibilities also include developing, building and implementing strategic ventures to shape and drive the profitability of the company in the long-term. Primary Responsibilities:

Predict emerging customer needs and develop innovative solutions to meet them

Regularly step into unfamiliar areas and teams to solution issues

Solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business

Participate in the development of business strategy

Develop and manage business plans to achieve objectives

Lead large, complex projects to achieve key business objectives

Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences

Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches

May have segment-wide impact

Direct cross-functional and/or cross-segment teams
This role will vary and change based on project needs. There will be day-to-day projects combined with strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

5+ years of professional work experience

Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:

Intermediate level proficiency in performing financial impact analysis, risk management, and data manipulation

Executive C-Suite interfacing experience

5+ years of healthcare or analytical experience in financial analysis, healthcare pricing, network management, healthcare economics, or related discipline5+ years in Pharmacy benefit management or pharmaceutical industry
Experience in creating and using financial modeling tools, spreadsheets, and information acquisition tools including experience in interpreting and reviewing financial modeling results to evaluate the financial impact of contract changes and develop forecasts
Intermediate level proficiency in MS Access
Intermediate level experience in public speaking / presentations
Project management skills
Experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, SAS, etc.)
