As an Assistant Store Manager, you will drive store and individual sales and selling with a focus on wellness and a balanced lifestyle.  You will direct all activities related to selling and service, visual merchandising, sales promotions, store maintenance, expense management, loss prevention, and sales support functions.  You will also assist the Store Manager in the storewide execution of these activities.  In partnership with the Store Manager, you will be responsible for the training, coaching, and development of a team of Wellness Advisors/Experts and Sales Leaders.  You will also introduce our clients to the 5 Pillars of our founder Sebastian Kneipp by demonstrating both our products and the water treatments he developed to promote a healthy, balanced lifestyle.

 

 

This position reports directly to the Store Manager and may lead to a Store Manager role.

 

 

 

Basic Responsibilities:

Deliver a truly amazing customer experience to all Kneipp clients

Assistant Store Managers must be collaborative and team focused

Consistently strive to exceed sales goals and other expectations set by leadership

Excellent understanding of product information

Knowledge of and commitment to company mission, vision, and values and understanding of Kneipp philosophy and 5 Pillars

Commitment to building customer relationships and loyalty through personal interaction, hands- on product/water treatment demonstration

Strong knowledge of and passion for store products and services and ability to present to clients the efficacy and benefits of our products

Ability and desire to perform seated consultations for customers to determine their skincare, wellness, and gifting needs

Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership including, but not limited to:  visual merchandising, cleaning, stocking shelves, maintaining organized back room and floor, processing shipments quickly and accurately, cashiering quickly and accurately

 

Leadership Responsibilities:

Sales

Drive and exceed sale goals by developing and executing strategies

Determine business-driving opportunities

Lead the team toward delivering an exceptional customer experience, complete with product and water treatment demonstrations.  Coach, follow-up, and recognize successes of all level of team members

Enhance the clients’ experience through team-selling with Wellness Advisors/Experts, Sales Leaders, and leadership

Manage schedules and ensure appropriate coverage is maintained at all times

Take a leadership role in delivering all company initiatives

Clearly communicate objectives and priorities to the team

Assume total store leadership in absence of Store Manager and partner in the strategic planning of short and long term goals

Celebrate and recognize selling successes and coach team to improve selling performance

Maintain a clean, neat, and easy to shop store environment

Deliver the highest quality client experience

 

Operations

Open and close the store, performing all tasks to company standards

Maintain awareness of company expectations and current promotions and communicate these to the team

Partner with Store Manager in areas of loss prevention, store cash controls, and inventory management

Ensure product presentation, sales and event set-up, pricing, and signing standards are flawlessly executed to the direction of Kneipp leadership team

Understand and use store metrics to engage with team through formal and informal observations and coaching/role plays to develop selling behaviors

Ability to analyze reports in partnership with Store Manager and link results to employee performance

People

Observe team members’ interactions with clients and each other and provide Store Manager with detailed feedback to ensure an efficiently functioning store

Assist in the recruiting and selection of a team of qualified Wellness Advisors/Experts and Sales Leaders

Assist Store Manager in building a bench for future advancements and promotions

Ensure all training is conducted on a timely basis; ensure assigned trainers engage with new hires effectively.  Assist in the training process where applicable

Build a culture of recognition by executing new and innovative ways to energize, engage, and reward team

Partner with Store Manager conducting weekly team meetings

Monitor and address performance issues as they occur and/or on a timely basis

Lead team to support giving back to the local community helping create stronger, healthier places to live and work

 

Requirements/Skills Summary:

 

High School Diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 3-5 years in a highly focused selling culture or 1-2 years of retail management experience

Superior ability and desire to deliver exceptional customer experience, including excellent selling skills and phone service skills

Polished and professional demeanor

Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Entrepreneurial outlook and resourceful problem-solving skills

Be able to strategize long and short term

Strong leadership profile and negotiation skills

Highly organized and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities

Ability to work well with all levels of management, build partnerships, and direct teams

Ability to anticipate and solve problems, act decisively and persist in the face of obstacles
