Neither rain, nor heat, nor dark of night will keep a Universal Orlando Storeroom Technician from receiving, stocking, completing inventory, and satellite distribution of all of our general parts for technical services.


Storeroom Technicians at Universal Orlando are responsible for:


  • Unloading incoming shipments from suppliers or freight carriers.

  • Checking parts for discrepancies to packing lists noting any inconsistencies and relaying that information to vendor and procurement. Checking parts for discrepancies against packing lists noting any inconsistencies and relaying that information to vendor and procurement.

  • Checking parts for any damages and advises the carrier driver and departmental supervision.

  • Verifying and receiving parts into the inventory management computer system.

  • Storing newly received parts in a bin controlled warehouse environment (including offsite warehouse) or in “will call” for pick-up or delivery. 

  • Assisting with maintaining filing systems to maintain audit requirements.

  • Picking parts per requests from field Technicians in “real time” environment and completing weekly pulls for planned preventative maintenance. 

  • Completing appropriate documentation and data entry into Maximo for issuances and transfers.

  • Managing material pick-ups from end user via will call logs to ensure appropriate documentation is kept.

  • Driving vehicle to offsite location for pick-up and storage of parts.

  • Logging physical inventories and cycle counts into the inventory management system (Maximo) via wireless handheld scanners ensuring all locations are inventoried to maintain audit compliance.

  • Receiving broken parts in need of repair from field technicians and pulls replacement inventory as required while verifying current inventory bin balance. 

  • Completing appropriate documentation via Broken Parts Material Issue form.

  • Assisting procurement by creating purchase requisitions for broken parts.

  • Managing department safety training compliance and coordinates team member class attendance as required.

  • Understanding and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policy, procedures, training and Team Member involvement activities.

  • Performing other duties as assigned.



To perform the role of a Storeroom Technician successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.

  • High school degree or GED required.

  • Microsoft Office, Typing, Customer Service Orientation, Flexibility, Organizational Skills, Writing, Maximo, Multi-Tasking.

  • Required to perform simple computer tasks and pass the Internal Staffing test for Word, Excel and typing.  In depth knowledge of Maximo system is required.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.


The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Storeroom Technician job.



While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:


  • Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) walk for prolonged periods (including ability to walk at a given pace that is predetermined by a moving sidewalk); sit for prolonged periods; talk; hear audible alarms, voice commands with background noise; use hands and fingers to grip, pinch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; climb stairs / ladders; work at heights for prolonged periods of time including heights with or without railings or over open pits greater than 4 feet; balance; reach, pull, push with hands and arms above head / below head; repeat motions more than twice per minute; repeat-using an input device-a keyboard or mouse-in a steady manner; close vision with or without corrective lens. (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision with or without corrective lens. (clear vision at 20 feet or more); color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus while in changing light conditions e.g., sunshine to indoor or dark conditions); work in varied light conditions including low or diminished lighting; maintain alertness and attentiveness up to 4 hours while working varying hours; concentrate/focus (e.g., ability to interpret the work environment and make decisions on predetermined operating policies and procedure).

  • Frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time) stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

  • Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) lift up to 100 pounds with control; push up to 100 pounds with control; work in an environment with flashing lights including strobe lamps; work in small or tight spaces.


The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of the Storeroom Technician job.



While performing the duties of this job, the individual is required to:


  • Regularly (2/3 of the time or more) work in outdoor weather conditions to include direct sunlight, heat or cold; use a forklift (sit down); use a stand up forklift or motorized pallet jack; work with toxic or caustic chemicals, hazardous chemicals, fluorescent lamps or batteries; work with paint/solvents; work with oils/fuels; work with aerosols (spray paints, brake cleaner); use a motorized company vehicle or a leased or personal vehicle for company business; have a valid Florida state driver’s license.

  • Occasionally (1/3 of the time or less) work with compressed gas cylinders or tanks; transport fuels or compressed gases.
