Overview

Responsible for providing professional nursing care to clinic patients under the supervision of physicians/nurse practitioner and the Clinic Manager.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

Demonstrates ability to assess patient's general condition, particularly the acutely ill patient and ensures that needs are met.

Assists physicians/nurse practitioner with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments. Provides direct patient care as ordered.

Documents all interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed or prescribed, hospital data and any other pertinent information in the medical record.

Promotes wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physicians' advice and instructions.

Coordinates patient care by triaging patient phone calls regarding urgency of appointments and scheduling of diagnostic tests and hospital admissions.

Accurately completes waivers and assists the coders as needed.

Adheres to infection control/safety guidelines, maintains equipment, instruments and stock supplies.

Possesses excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette. Acts as a role model within the clinic to promote team work and enhance the work environment.

Performs all patient care, nursing tasks and documentation according to established clinic/system policies and the Arkansas Nurse Practice Act.

Successfully combines forces with other coworkers to support a team atmosphere within the clinic.

Returns patient phone calls in a timely manner to accurately communicate the physician's instructions and/or test results.

Reviews physician's schedules one day ahead for chart completeness.

Scan appropriate documentation to correct patient record.

Keep in-basket current daily.

Has a basic understanding of HIPAA regulations.

Adheres to basic ethical principals associated with government and insurance company reimbursements. Reports any observed questionable activities to the appropriate compliance officer or administrative manager.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Licensure: Current Arkansas license as a registered nurse.

Experience:

Certifications: Current certification in CPR. Current in ACLS.

Other: Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Basic computer knowledge.
