LOCATION: Vancouver, WA

 

SALARY: $12.00/Hour

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: Are you looking for a great opportunity to be involved in your local community? We are seeking an experienced field maintenance worker to apply herbicide to parks, natural areas, storm water facilities, and campus infrastructures. Employees will be working in all weather conditions. This work includes a combination of herbicide application, tree planting and maintaining, weeding, and summer watering. Position involves working in an environment with exposure to chemicals, pollen, insects, and bees. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 7:00am-3:30pm.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:  

 

- Experience in plant identification (native and ornamental).

 

- Ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hour shifts.

 

- Must be able to carry a 40 lb. backpack sprayer of herbicide mix.

 

- Must be comfortable working in a remote setting.

 

- Possession of a current Washington State Herbicide Applicator's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment is preferred but not required.

 

- Restoration planting and landscape maintenance experience preferred.

 

- ATV and kayak experience preferred.

 

- Basic mechanical skills and computer/GPS experience is helpful.

 

- Ability to successfully pass a drug screen.

- Must have a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance and a clean driving record from the past 3 years.
