We are seeking a Plant Tech to join our team of dedicated professionals as we continue our mission of improving the health of the communities we serve.

Job Description

In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Plant Tech operates boilers,

makes repairs to the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, tube and

plumbing systems. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as assigned or

otherwise required.

Meets population specific and all other competencies according to department requirements. Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients. Relationship-based Care: Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care throughout their experience at Mount Carmel following the principles of our interdisciplinary care delivery system. (For patient care providers) Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program. Responsible for maintaining all areas of his zone. Coordinates repairs with other staff and agencies to assure compliance with local codes, guidelines, and informs supervisor of any problems. Responsible for meeting required standards established around the organization's commitment to promote customer satisfaction, economics, productivity, innovation, people growth, and organizational climate. Make rounds and equipment checks as required. Perform maintenance repairs to all equipment, HVAC and refrigeration systems, lighting, electrical and air distribution systems. Perform daily chemical analysis on closed loops, cooling towers, boilers and associated equipment. Maintain books and records for regulatory agencies. Perform routine maintenance functions. Handle hazardous chemicals and works in 100+ degree environment. Respond to adverse operating conditions. Coordinate equipment repairs with other departments throughout the hospital. Performs work on boilers as needed. Operates boilers as needed. Performs snow removal duties including the maintenance and operation of 4-wheel drive vehicles, plows, salt spreaders, tractors, blowers, and applies salt and de-icers. Ensure visitor's safety Attends all in service training required by the job position and meets the facility annual mandatory guidelines for training.. Responsible for compliance with Organizational Integrity through raising questions and promptly reporting actual or potential wrongdoing. All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: High school graduate or GED. Technical training in mechanical, refrigeration, electrical, and/or plumbing. Licensure / Certification: Universal Refrigerant Certification preferred. Experience: Minimum five years experience in repair/maintenance boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing and/or general maintenance. Effective Communication Skills Ability to function with minimum supervision. Ability to read blueprints. Ability to read control drawings pertaining to temperature control systems. Knowledge of basic computer applications. Physical demands including working in 100+ degree environments, lifting objects up to 80 pounds, and work at heights of 20 feet or more from ladders. Must have a valid Ohio driver's license.
